Craft Hope is a project we've always admired but never more so than in its recent speedy mobilization to shift gears from sending handcrafted items to people in need to facilitating the sale of handcrafted items to raise money for people in need, specifically the people of Haiti living through the aftermath of a horrific earthquake.
You can learn more about Craft Hope's mission and projects here, but their current energies are focused on running an Etsy shop, Craft Hope for Haiti. Handmade items are donated by crafters to the shop and all the proceeds benefit Doctors without Borders' work in Haiti. The shop has been up for a few days and has already raised an incredible $10,000.
The response has been overwhelming and the volunteers who have been listing the items on Etsy are soon going to take some time off to regroup before they decide the best way to move forward. But new items will be listed for several more days so do take a look.
