By late next week, most of us will probably be eating cranberries in some form or another. But what about using the pretty red berries in holiday decor?
• 1 They look like gems when they're strung up in a garland. (via Thoughtfully Simple)
• 2 In water, they can liven up a flower arrangement while holding the stems in place. (Michael Luppino / Country Living)
• 3 Kind of like a cranberry bog, on a much smaller scale: float them in water alongside floating candles. (Taste of Home)
• 4 A frozen cranberry wreath made with a Bundt pan - you need to trust the weather will stay below freezing for this one. (Miki Duisterhof / Good Housekeeping)

thanks for the great ideas! I've been seeing bags of cranberries for sale everywhere now.
We always make cranberry/popcorn garlands for the Christmas tree. After the holiday, we put them outside for the birds.
I think cranberries are the best color red. I made fresh cranberry juice this morning to keep away the flu and cold.
I've been looking for inexpensive holiday decor, thanks!
great ideas! i just cooked up my last bag of cranberries with my latest batch of applesauce. i love garlands made with cranberries...it's so simple and old-fashioned!
i also LOVE the idea of a frozen wreath - i do hope it has some kind of built-in support though, or it might break. all lovely ideas.
I have receivd and then stole the idea to make again a flower arrangement with cranberries in the container, red roses, evergreen clippings and carnations. Much like picture 2.
We also make a frozen wreath, with cranberries and kumquats inside, to float in our holiday punch bowl.
How long will a fresh cranberry garland last?
Wow- this makes me feel really silly for using faux cranberries last year. *Shame*
Silly question, but if cranberries float, how do they anchor flowers in a vase... and if they sink.... how do they float with the candles in a bowl?
ditto to caeebe's question! I have a bag of berries that didn't get used for sauce, I'm going to give it a go. hopefully it lasts at least till I fly back home on xmas eve!
