Best Eco-Friendly Cribs

As we start to pay an increasing amount of intention to the sustainability and safety of our children's cribs, more designers are starting to put their version onto the market. We rounded up 5 of our favorites plus a few that might be new to you. See the earth-friendly options, including a few that remind us of a few celebrities, after the jump.

Inhabitots recently ran a great reminder of some of the best eco-friendly cribs on the market today. We've shown you many of them, but there were a few that you might not have taken a peek at yet. Here's what made the list:

First Row, Left To Right
Ola! Crib from Casa Kids: There's a whole like of Ola! furniture that outside of their sustainable claim are truly beautiful pieces of furniture. We're gonna label these the Brad Pitt of the green crib movement. They look amazing no matter how they're dressed and are trying to save the planet one sale at a time. (Oh yeah, we went there)

Roh Crib from Spot on Square: We can't help but drool a little over this dark veneered piece that boasts acrylic sides. The beauty of not having bars isn't one you think about until they're gone.

Austin Crib from DucDuc: The Austin crib has fixed rails giving this piece some serious stability. It also boasts 4 different mattress heights to help you (and your back) get your little one in and out easily, plus there's a kit to turn this pretty piece into a toddler's bed as well.

The Robin Crib from Oeuf: Even if you can't pronounce the company name, this crib has become the industry standard eco-friendly crib. Though it's pricetag initially seemed a little high, models with higher pricetags have hit the market recently making this one feel a little more "in reach."

Argington Bam Crib: This convertible bed transforms from a bassinet to a crib and then again into a toddler bed. It's quite the puzzle that has dashing good looks in the process.

Second Row, Left To Right
MasonGray Crib from DucDuc: At this point, we're pretty sure anything DucDuc touches turns to gold, this crib hit the market a few months ago with rave reviews. There's a whole line of furniture to accompany the look, also available in adult sizes as well (the other pieces-not the crib, that would just be odd).

The Leander Crib: This 5-in-1 crib is a true work of art and Transforms more than Michael Jackson (too soon?), going all out and forming into a toddler bed when all is said and done. Many beds that have the end result of a toddler bed still leave things at that mid stage which really just look like a small break in the rails and still have that cage like effect. This one is sure to please, even if the price tag is a little steep.
