There's something victorious about pulling off a designer look on a small budget and we're pretty sure that this big, bold boutique bed could be just that project. What appears to be a built in apparatus could really just be plumbing pipe and paint!

We ran across this fabulous room over at Plastolux from the sister design team of Jayne and Joan Michaels out of New York City. Although hiring a designer to come in to redo a bedroom sounds like a dream come true for many, it usually isn't in the cards when it comes to budget restrictions.

To pull this look off at home on a small budget, try painting the overly large blocks of color (in whatever color you desire!) first and then anchoring or rather "outlining them" with pieces of wood trim from the hardware store. The vertical posts at the foot of the bed could easily be made and secured with plumbing pieces. Although PVC would be the least expensive option, something tells us you'll need to go for iron in case they're ever swung from!

If you want to forgo the pipe all together you could alter the look and use chain or rope to complete the look. Just purchase it in, or paint it to match the other wooden trim and you'll be set! What do you think of the look? Designer or doable? Let us know below!
