Create a Palette From Your Favorite House Tour Photos

Chip It! by Sherwin-Williams

Ever since Sherwin-Williams introduced the Chip It! tool, we've been a little obsessed here at the Apartment Therapy office. We see so many gorgeous, colorful images every day (a perk of working here), and for us design geeks, it's endless fun to chip an image to see its palette. So we are thrilled that Chip It! is sponsoring our House Tour gallery, integrating the Chip It! tool with our Apartment Therapy image viewer so that chipping beautiful images from our readers homes is as easy as possible.

If you've never used Chip It! before, don't be scared! Click Chip It!, then roll your mouse over whatever picture you want to chip. You'll see a preview palette and then if you want, you can click Chip It! again to create a full ChipCard. Don't forget to click "More Colors" at the bottom of your ChipCard to see the full palette of colors in your chipped image. Then you can save your ChipCard, pin it or share it.

For easy chipping, install a Chip It! button by dragging this button to your bookmarks bar:

When you see a photo online with colors you like — on any website or photo-sharing site, like Pinterest, Facebook, Picasa, etc. — click your new Chip It! button and watch the matching magic happen! Then you can save it for later, in your own Chip It! albums, on Pinterest or Facebook, or on your desktop. So now you can use the colors that inspire you while surfing the Internet to help make paint color selection easier — in your bedroom, bathroom, kitchen or any room in between. You can also upload photos directly to Chip It!, so your own favorite snapshots can become color inspiration, as well.

>>>Chip It! is integrated into the House Tour gallery for a few months only. Check out our house tours and chip your favorites in the gallery!
>>>Earlier this summer we invited readers to chip their favorite vacation photos, and we got fabulous submissions! See our favorite chipped photos here, or check out the Chip It! Pinterest board.
