I've established a pattern that I'm usually late for work on Monday and Wednesday mornings. It's no coincidence that those are school library days for each of my kids.
On those mornings, I spend precious minutes hunting through our own stacks of books for that one book checked out from the school library. Clearly, it's time to get organized. While looking for ideas, I found this organized school station - a landing strip for kids - over at Organized Mom. Set up a bin or file organizer for each child to put permission slips and other paperwork. A basket can hold school library books so they'll never be lost among all the other books. A designated area for school things can make all the difference.

I love this! We try to keep library books on one shelf in my son's room and books from school in the bag they came home in, but it doesn't always work. Just the other day we returned the bag to school with items missing. Apparently that's what happens sometimes when you tell a 5-year-old to 'put everything in the story bag!' A landing spot like this could definitely help us out.
Pretty good post. I just came across your site and wanted to say that I have truly loved reading through your blog posts. Any ways I’m going to be subscribing for your feed and I hope you post again soon.
