They say that the ceiling is the fifth wall of the room, but most of the time we don't see people utilize this blank canvas. Dina of Honey & Fitz knew a feature on the ceiling would be perfect for her baby's new nursery, and if you think about it, it's probably the one part of the room your baby will gaze at the most.
Initially Dina fell in love with Osborne & Little's Coronata Star wallpaper, but she didn't love the price or the commitment of wallpaper. So instead she came up with this amazing DIY version using only two materials: paint and contact paper!
To create your own feature ceiling, follow Dina's instructions over on Honey & Fitz.

Cool, but would these ever come off?

I put a galaxy of glow-in-the-dark stars on my daughter's ceiling. The stars stick on with putty (comes in the package), so you can take them off without damage. Easy, cheap and nonpermanent.
You can even do the proper constellations.
This is so chic!! Greta project!
Absolutely lovely! I imagine they won't have any issue removing it, as the stars are made of a metallic contact paper.
Thanks for featuring my ceiling project! I am happy to report that I've been able to replace and remove the stars without any damage at all. I tested a few different contact papers prior to doing the whole ceiling and found the one I used and linked to in my tutorial come off my plaster ceiling just fine. No damage and no residue!
As a christmas gift one year, my parents had a company come out to paint invisible glow in the dark stars on my brother and my ceilings and walls. Apparently it was the night sky from the night we were born. Very sweet, but I imagine it probably cost a lot. I like this idea better!
