It's not often we find a DIY project that jumps out at us as much as Sourojit's, but we must say, "Well, done." Using nothing but the goods from IKEA's TV media collection and shelving systems, we go from boring blank wall to one of the most complete IKEA (or not) DIY TV wall systems we've ever seen.
For those on a budget, this is probably one of the most glowing examples of how one can easily afford big style without breaking the bank. We're not just talking a few, but using all IKEA components, ranging from BESTA (for the shelving) to FRIEL (for the TV unit) to LACK (for additional shelving), we can safely say that noe can build a pretty epic 12-foot wide TV wall system that's bound to attract inquiries.
"How much for that sweet custom job on the wall unit?" You can smirk in satisfaction.
On the technology side of things, we have a beautiful 60" Pioneer KURO TV and Definitive Technology Mythos speakers filling the room up with some beautiful sound. Not too sure on the turntable, but what we do love is that he's taken all of the unsightly wiring and placed them behind the BESTA wall panel doors for a clean, cohesive look and feel. Finally, the AV equipment hides in the lower FRIEL TV units, along with his 12TB of downloaded (legally, we hope) Plex home media server.
The cost of the entire unit? A mere $1,100 and about 2 weeks of construction. Not bad at all, if you ask us.

White Enamel Four-P...
Is the Friel tv unit still available in the US? I tried to search it in the Ikea site and I can't seem to find it.
Shame the turntable is so small in the picture. From what I can see, it's not your run of the mill unit from Best Buy. It's a hi-end table for sure, easily costing 3x the entertainment unit. Finely machined platter and base, belt drive. It's meant to be shown!
