There's one thing that we really don't like here at Unplggd: it's messy wires. We try to stay away from them as much as possible. It's not always easy since the modern home theater and office are filled with power supplies and plugs. However, getting organized has never been cheaper or simpler using this simply DIY solution.
Antoine from BitsOfMyMind has come up with a very simple way of using an inexpensive Ikea coat hanger rack into a really nifty streamlined cable management system. He originally came up with this idea when a $10 cable management add-on from Ikea was no longer available.
He simply screwed an Ikea Antonius coat hanger to the underside of his desk, using wood screws. He also used a hollow tube so that the hangers were safe. The best part is that the Antonius coat hanger costs $5. However, if you have trouble finding this coat hanger, don't despair. Any similarly made coat hanger will do.
We really like this little project. You don't need many fancy things to start managing your cable mess. Usually, some tie-wraps and a bit of smart thinking can get you started. We like how this build uses a cheap coat hanger to get the job done. The fact of the matter is that no one will see it, so it doesn't really matter that it's cheap. It will be nicely hidden away.
