Encouraging kids to write thank you cards is beneficial on many levels. It not only instills valuable lessons on gratitude and manners, it also forces the child to reflect on each gift received and what it means to them. And while these reasons may all sound a bit serious, it doesn't mean you can't have fun with the card itself.
Ashley of Under the Sycamore shared this great card idea which is sweetly and refreshingly analog in our increasingly digital world. By utilizing simple props, the message of thanks is conveyed in a very personal way.

The possibilities are truly endless with this method. The toughest part may be getting the models to cooperate, a detail Ashley can certainly attest to. See more prop ideas for saying "thanks" as well as some hilarious outtakes at Under the Sycamore.

We recently did this for my son's detective party and it was hugely popular with everyone!
The guests loved seeing themselves, Harris loved sending the cards and the parents got to see their children. It was a win/win situation!
I love the props she used!
Such a cute idea!
Ashley is the best, She is so kind, and their children adorables. Love her blog, she is my hero :)
I just did photo thank you cards from my boys' birthday, but since they're just 4, I'll be writing them again this year. Can't wait til they can help!
I started doing picture thank you cards when my son was born 2 years ago, and it's still going strong. People love the personalized touch of the picture, as well as the thank you itself. Writing thank you's is one of those important life lessons I plan on instilling in my son when he's old enough.
