This painting just sold at auction for $1.2 million dollars. Just kidding! This painting was made by two pre-schoolers in an afternoon. A super fun activity with a beautiful result.
The making of this large-scale marble painting can be seen on Let the Children Play. It's an activity well-suited for a group of kids so consider it for your next playdate or party. This one was made outside, but a smaller version could be a perfect rainy day project.
Jenny of Let the Children Play is a teacher at a progressive preschool in Australia and if you have children that age you should definitely pay a visit for more inspiration.

wow, lovely art.
That's really nice except for the text... What pre-schoolers would (or could) write that? Hmmm...
Just what I need...another great blog to read! ;)
Looks like the type of thing that Horchow sells for $1800 (framed, of course)

Perhaps I need to learn how to play with paints too...
i bought a 30"x40" blank canvas at a garage sale this summer for $1 and we did this as a family project (which then got rained on). it hangs over our sofa and looks fabulous!
Thanks so much for the link love, Carrie!! Isn't this the best idea?!
Cool family bonding idea!
This painting is awesome ... definitely worthy of being in an art gallery. We did similar marble paintings with our kindergarten children but on a smaller scale ... actually it was Jenny from "Let the Children Play" who inspired us!
