We were simply amazed at how beautiful these little LED sea urchin lights looked. You'd expect something like this to demand quite a bit of patience in order to put together. However, this isn't the case. This little project can be fun to make with the whole family.
Windell over at Evil Mad Scientist Laboratories created these beautiful little lamps, simply by adding an LED clipped across a batter into a sea urchin shell. Sea urchin shells can be found on the beach or at beach stores pretty easily. They come in varying sizes.
These magical little lights are extremely easy to make and can serve as accent lights in many different places. We wouldn't mind putting a few on our desks and shelves, especially behind the computer monitor. We think that it's just awesome how good they look. Also, the ones featured in the photos are quite delicate and small, which is even better.
The fact of the matter that the lighting system is comprised of simply an LED bulb, a battery, and a paper clip is also pretty cool. This means that making these is going to be pretty easy. Where will you put yours?
