With so many branches of science to choose from, you have an endless array of subjects with which to gather your inspiration. Though, don't feel like you have to stick to only one. Science in décor is cool because it's inherently detailed, intricate and complicated; it makes one pause to consider an item, a chart or a specimen. It encourages discovery and exploration of your home. And it totally goes with the whole retro-trend that doesn't ever appear to be stopping. From gadgets to vintage posters to vintage science gear (no unauthorized experiments!) you've got a ton of science that could go in your home. Here's some very scientific evidence:

I have been seeing a few posts with suggestions for collections. Don't collections happen instinctively/organically? It seems a little hokey to tell someone how to start one. I feel compelled to gather things that I like to see at home, not because it's an editor's choice.
I'd guess pinned insect collections go in this category. They used to be popular with kids as a hobby. They even were assigned as science class projects. They also could go in the previously posted creepy collections category.
I love science miscellany - especial vintage. My overflow goes into my ETSY store.
great accent ideas!

Well, it's collections month. Suck it up for another week or so....
That said, I don't find this theme worthy of a whole month's devotion. :\
I love collections. I am loving collections month! To each his/her own I guess...
If you happen to work in a university lab, you can find tons of real labware for free, since a lot of it is no longer used. I can't believe people will $26 for a wire test tube rack that was $1 from Fisher.
Love your collections and this is my favorite! I adore vintage science and lab equipment. Stay tuned for more to come since I can never get enough. Thanks for featuring my vintage school science poster!
Some people love collections month and are expressing that view here. I hate it and am still tired of it from last year. Hopefully the nays will have it and it will not be continued next year.
It's not that collection posts are bad, but having a month dedicated to it is . . . well, the reasons a person shouldn't force making/starting a collection are the same reasons why you shouldn't force posts about collecting.
I agree with K8WMA. You can get the brand new lab gear for super cheap at Fisher or even Amazon! And it won't be contaminated with who knows what!
I still have my science related decor with tropical fish and plants. My friends call my aquariums "Your Little Biology Experiments" which they are, to an extent still.
Forty bucks for one molecule? Man, just get a Molymod kit for half that cost and make any molecule you want! (I used to have ethyl butanoate - the ester responsible for banana and strawberry flavouring - on my dresser, and once I distracted myself from a headache by making a model of an ibuprofen molecule!)
That said, I love the posters, and I really want that TV!
There are cool reproduction educational charts at this shop!
