At my house, we do a pretty good job of writing and sending out birthday greetings in a timely fashion. We could do better in the thank-you note department, however. And as for personal, non-email correspondance... it's best not to speak of that. We're not alone. To combat letter-writing inertia, Teri, who runs the blog Giddy Giddy, created this beautiful station for herself and her girls.
Teri asked herself, "Would it make it easier and lovelier to sit down and write a note when all your cute stationary and letter writing tools are displayed in one place?"
To find out, she repurposed an old thrift-store brochure display rack to contain all her cards, envelopes, stationery, stickers, stamps, and other letter-writing accoutrements. So far, she reports that it definitely has her daughters eager to write letters.

How about you? Do you have a similar setup for organizing writing materials? More to the point: does it actually work?

White Enamel Flatwa...
That is so sweet! I wish I could think of something similar for corralling letter-writing materials around here...I was just thinking of giving my kids a box to store in their desks, and they could take it out to write a note whenever the fancy strikes...hmm....or maybe one of those divided desk organizer thingies for each desk? Yay for snail mail!
