One of the challenges of living in a loft or other space with an open floor plan is creating a private bedroom space. This rotating bedroom cube could be just the solution…
This colorful cube is basically a bedroom on wheels. Spin it around one way and there's only a small door facing the room. Spin it around the other way and the three-sided cube is wide open. Think of it as a canopy bed meets cocoon meet movable room.
The best part is that you can get a pdf of the plans to build the cube bed over on Du Cote de Chez Vous. The drawback? The instructions are in French.

Cool! Now if only I had the amazing loft to put it in...
Jomo, as it is the cube is pretty much the size of my bedroom.
just no!
It reminds me of the ducal bedchamber at the Palazzo Ducale in Urbino -- less ornate, but the same idea. Everything old is new again, c. 1500!
Ummmmmm, i just dont know, i guess its okay for hiding the bed, but then u just have a big red square blocking half of the living room
Now I just need to learn French.
I LOVE IT
thinking out of the box (pun intended)! Love it!
Ventilation? Windows?
love it. now I just have to learn french.
It looks great. Open plan living, sleeping in a box. I guess the open side deals with claustrophobia issues.
It reminds me of sleeping in a tent indoors for fun. I'd consider it if I lived in a loft.
Great place to store the boytoy.
i wonder if this would work in a studio. i like the idea of being able to move it around a bit.. shift when company is over.
About it being able to be moved around a bit, maybe the wheels should have brakes...
Love it! Though I would do a matching color to the walls so it would blend in rather than stand out.
@Miami's Elaine: those heavy duty casters have brakes.
@whereisMrDarcy, Thanks, good to know. I like the red since it might look magical and romantic given enough space, candle light nearby, and shadows. Any way, clever concept.
wow.
Cool but I wonder why they didn't just use a curtain to hide the bed.
Being one that does not care fo heavy window coverings, I think this idea is super cool. Not only can you sleep during the day but you can even get dressed without worrying about peeping toms. Regarding learning french to read the instructions, how hard can it be to make a big giant box with wheels? I'm no carpenter so maybe there's more than meets the eye. Either way, love it.
