Jennifer knew that her fourth pregnancy would be met with some surprise, and probably even a few raised eyebrows. So she cleverly decided to embrace the chaos head-on and make a very public announcement to her neighborhood. When her twelve week mark fell near the beginning of October, she knew what she had to do. She set out pumpkins representing her daughters Lily Kate, Mercy, and Flora Jane, each with their monograms on a bow. The littlest pumpkin remained unnamed, and with a pacifier. A few short weeks later, she found out the sex. Click through to see what they're having!

Congratuations Jennifer!
We love the sweet and simple way she shared this intimate moment. We're now anticipating families of turkeys or snowmen in a similar vein. What clever ways have you used to reveal your pregnancy?

None! I would have loved to do the pink or blue cupcake centers for folks at work, but I ended up calling our parents before making it out the doctor's office, who in turn beat even us to posting to facebook! Within half an hour it seems, everyone knew. But I do applaud those who have the wilpower to hold off telling and do it in a fun way.
I made my FB profile picture a "bun in an oven" -- but nobody got it! LOL!
I sent out a picture along with our Christmas card of my daughter holding a sign that said "I'm going to be a big sister!"
We are announcing tomorrow. We found out on Friday we are having a boy, and contacted my favorite dessert place to order onsie cookies in blue with little footballs on them. We bought party favor bags that were gender neutral and are going to put each cookie in a bag with other "It's a boy" items.
My "clever" way to accidentally announce my pregnancy was for a tipsy friend to loudly announce at a big party - "She can't have a beer, she's pregnant!"
I couldn't be mad at all because seeing everyone's shocked faces was hilarious. Best way to come out indeed. :)
We're actually bucking the trend and trying to not find out the sex until the baby is born. That is, if sonograms will agree with keeping the secret and all that. (Sometimes it's a little too obvious!)
Don't know gender yet (I'm just over 14 weeks), but announced the pregnancy on Facebook by posting a photo of me wearing a maternity skeleton shirt (it has a baby skeleton on the belly).
I do love this idea, though, and if I ever reveal around Halloween again, I'm stealing the idea! :)
I asked my sister (an ultrasonographer) to please scan me and check that I really did have ovarian cysts like my gynae had said... heh heh. She shrieked and jumped up and down when she saw the 'cyst'! (We waited for both our babies to reveal their sex at birth - a long, long 39 weeks for both of them!)
With my first pregnancy I announced it to my family by getting a "grandparents" picture frame and putting a sonogram picture in for my mother and mother-in-law for mother's day.
To announce the gender, we ordered Chinese food and I made homemade fortune cookies with slips of paper saying "It's a boy"
This pregnancy I'm planning on getting a shirt for my son that says "Big Brother; coming July 2012" and having him wear it to the Christmas eve parties. We'll see how long it takes for everyone to notice :)
ok, just curious. Might be that my monitor's color is a little off, but the bow looks red? Which could be either a boy or a girl! I'm curious, boy or girl??? :-)
I'm with Courtney! It looks red to me, which fits either gender in my opinion! So which is it?
It is indeed a red bow, but a BOW nonetheless -- on the head, like the big sisters.
It's a girl! I think it would have been a bow tie should they be having a boy.
It was around Valentine's Day and we had heart shaped cookies made...5 of them...together they spelled out B-A-B-Y-! There were supposed to be 5 people coming to eat with us that night (both sets of parents and my brother) but it snowed and only 1 set of parents made it out. We were going to give each person a cookie and see if they figured it out. So instead we just gave my parents the entire bag of cookies and let them unscramble them. My mom was cute...she pulled out the "Y" and was like "Oh, how sweet! Thank you!" We had to tell her to pull out the rest and then my dad figured it out and unscrambled them for her. Lol...it was a big surprise since we had been trying to have a baby for over 3 years since having a miscarriage.
