Babies spend an awful lot of time on their backs early on, so we love it when we see great ceiling decor ideas. Here are a few we pulled together that we think are so super creative and inspiring you may want to try them in other rooms, too.
• Cloud Formations by Lorena, San Francisco designer Lorena Fernandez created this breathtaking ceiling installation for her son's nursery. See more photos at her By Lorena flickr page.
• Make Your Own Clouds, Ben's awesome DIY indoor cloud gazing project adds a serene touch to a space.
• Inspiration: Planetary Ceiling Decor, Science fair chic in Mexico City. We love it.
• Unexpected Inspiration: Kites Indoors and in Art, Fantastic decorating ideas in a retail space at Weego Baby Los Angeles.
• Modern Planters for Modern Nurseries, Pictured here in a dining room, we think the bubble glass collection from West Elm would look light and lovely in a baby's room.

Shaw's Original Fir...
Love the embroidery hoops hanging from the ceiling. A giant mobile. So clever.
Very cute. Another idea - we frequently visit a cafe with mini hand-made paper kites hanging from the ceiling, and our baby loves it.
The next time I decorate I want to do the ceiling, as well as the wall behind the rocking chair, also always in constant baby-view.
Very pretty ceiling decor... especially in the kids rooms! Funny timing, because I was just thinking about what to do above my son's crib, since he is now at the point where he can take down his mobile. I think I may do some different colors and sizes of paper lanterns. I'll go for battery operated so there's no cords involved. Great inspiration on this post though!! :)
the embroidery hoops are amazing! i've seen something similar on walls before, but never hung from above. seriously gorgeous idea!
