Crudite is a staple on the party scene because it is both easy to prepare and tasty to eat. Unfortunately, crudite is rarely inspiring to look at — especially those pre-made platters from the grocery store that so often get popped on the table without any effort to add a little pizzazz. If you love crudite but need help making the presentation more creative, then read on…
- This Crudite Christmas Tree is a fun way to present vegetables at a Christmas party, though as guests enjoy the food, you'll lose the visual effect.
- Martha Stewart created this all-white buffet for a casual wedding, but it would work equally well for a winter wonderland party.
- This Vegetable Crudite display uses a mix of glass trays and square containers in different heights to create an interesting presentation.
- Crudite Shooters are a great way to serve cut vegetables to your guests, and might allow you to make use of that shot glass
collegecollection from college! - If you really have prep time available, you might try this 3-D Crudite Christmas Tree.
- This crudity display makes use of footed glasses to elevate the vegetables and dip off of the table.
Finally, here are some easy instructions from TLC on creating fabulous garnishes for your next party.

Shaw's Original Fir...
Eww. no. I don't want to eat stuff that's been arranged, and rearranged to death. Food doesn't need to come in shapes.
I can deal with a simple crudite platter... but the tree ones are horrifying. As Palmetto said, I also don't want to eat food that has been rearranged to death.
I'm really hoping this is tongue in cheek. And if so, you should have included a link to Charles Phoenix and his astro-weenie xmas tree:

OK, I have to say, as the person in charge of refreshments at a public library holiday open house, I kind of like these ideas! (Probably not for home, though.) Funny that a place that discusses centerpieces to death seems (so far) so negative on making the FOOD a centerpiece of sorts! If HANDLING the food to make the arrangements is the issue, some of us do wear plastic gloves for that, you know...
The all white arrangement is the scariest to me. Food should be colorful! Also I never understood why we need such a fancy word as "crudite" to describe veggies and dip.
I actually really like the first one (not so much the others except for a very expensive wedding or event). I think the tree is very simple and easy to arrange (and to pick at and eat which is important). I don't think there is any more arranging involved with the 1st tree then my family's traditional put the dip bowl in the center then place each type of cut veggie in a circle with a pleasing color arrangement (no 2 green veggies next to each other) and sticks radiating from the center.
what, were there no accents aigu available during the typing of this article?
Crudites are those who are opposed to raw vegetables.
doesn't this belong on thekitchn.com?
Only one crudité? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Crudit%C3%A9s
Sorry if this is nit-picky but if you are writing an article about something and using it in the title, I think it's not too much to ask that you spell it correctly.
FYI: Restaurant chefs are constantly touching and arranging your food with their bare hands! EW!
I like these. I think they're creative and charming.
I think the first one is cute :) I'd probably eat most of it anyway.
I like the first one, it's just the right shade of kitschy-by-way-of-kawaii for me.
The all white buffet...hmmm. Has sort of an appealing ceremonial quality, like I could pretend to be a fantasy Roman Emperor while eating it.
Not so much on any of the others, they just seem sort of overdone to me.
My mom makes a PINECONE shaped cheeseball every year at Christmastime. It is a mixture of cream cheese and other cheeses, red bell pepper, bacon, etc. and then she carefully layers it with slivered almonds to create the "pinecone" effect. It's super tasty and always a hit at parties.
How, exactly, are guests supposed to get the baby toms out of that silly glass in the last photo?
collection* from college :P
The astro-weenie Christmas tree is a howl! And an absolute must-do this holiday season.

I think these are great ideas.
The all white setup is completely unappetizing.
For those of you who wouldn't want to destroy the arrangements -- after the host/ess nibbled a hole in things, I doubt you'd feel any constraints. At work we sometimes are blessed with Edible Arrangements (fruit bouquets), and trust me -- nobody holds back on ripe pineapple, chocolate dipped strawberries, etc.!
Funny, I was thinking the white one was elegant.
Awsome!
