How does a person with a love of glass bottles and no salt and pepper shakers live 30 years without ever thinking of this? I don't have a mini pair yet, but now that I have a focus they're sure to turn up—and when they do I'll have my drill ready!
I spotted these in a cafe the other day and I couldn't stop looking at them. So simple! Easy to use, easy to refill, easy to clean. Plus, they're recyclable and surprisingly ergonomic, even in their mini form. You could do the same thing with any glass bottle or jar. It's always nice to see an everyday item redefining its use.

These have been used in cafes for decades in my area. I love them, but finding a pair to use at home has been a struggle. Maybe I'm just that unlucky.
In Indonesia street vendors and pop-up food stalls use them all the time.
Those are so cute. Coke could really do themselves a favor by bringing back the old glass bottles. Why have they not thought of this? People are paying for the danged things at tag sales, for goodness sake.
An awesome way to re-use those iconic bottles. Love!
If you live near a Mexican neighborhood, it should be pretty easy to find the mini glass coca-cola bottles from Mexico.
I have these exact shakers and love them. I bought mine probably 6-7 years ago at a Linens'n'Things store. They're perfect and go with my "Coke" decor.
My local Costco sells these "Mexican Cokes" by the case.
I may be missing another page of explanation, but I don't understand the "how to" for this. I see that you're using coke bottles, but what I don't understand is the caps. How are they reusable if you have to "open" the cap to refill?
Thanks, in advance, for the reply!
Yes, where is the tutorial?
