In its previous life this pretty memo board was a castoff crib spring. With so many drop-rail cribs deemed unsafe and taken out of circulation (and many fixed-rail cribs chewed or otherwise rendered too janky to be handed down) it shouldn't be too hard to find a crib spring to upcycle.
Ashley at The Handmade Home made the memo board for Peyton, her friend's nine-year-old daughter whose room was due for a big girl upgrade. She made a MDF frame for the spring, wrapped it with strips of fabric and stitched up a few flowers for the corner.

Howard Butcher Bloc...
Genius.
This is so creative and fun...the wrapped fabric scraps look so finished. I am going to try this out for sure.
To make this piece a bit more nostalgic (especially if it's crib spring that has been outgrown by your kids) you could even hang baby pictures in it with some funky/colorful clips)
Thanks so much for sharing
We use an old crib spring (from a recalled crib) as a drying rack. It hangs from the ceiling in our basement and is perfect for hanging things with clothes pins or hangers.
