One Way to Start Every Day Off Great: Create a Clean, Fresh Bedroom

We're knee deep in January at this point, and if you're anything like us, you've taken time this month to organize various trouble spots in your home, create a filing system you swear you're going to abide by this year and do a ton of cleaning. While all of that is great, it may all be for waste if you haven't tackled one important spot yet.

Everyone is different, of course, but we'd bet that nearly everyone can impact their day positively by waking up in a clean, fresh-feeling, bright bedroom. And imagine how calm you'll fall asleep if you're surrounded by a crisp, organized space that doesn't make you feel like you might be buried in clutter while you slumber.

The truth is one of the most important things you can do in your efforts to start the new year on the right, organized foot is to pare down your bedroom's elements, brighten up the space, and create a room that you can keep tidy fairly easily. We've published tons of great posts about how to organize your bedroom (skip to below if you wanna start right now) but we think the best advise is presented visually by a collection of photos from our house tours that prove that you don't really need all that much to sleep:
