We asked readers about a macrame comeback a few weeks ago - we do think it is something of a trend. We think we'll be seeing more and more hand-crafty looking stuff for the home start surfacing. This metal side table is a good example - a bit hippie and a bit mod, it seems very fresh and fun for a patio or garden. The price...
...is right too, at $49.99 you could pick up a pair and be set for margaritas and tofu dogs under the stars for this summer (and many to come).
The all-metal table is available in olive, yellow and grey powdercoat - the finish is rustproof and the tables are stackable for off-season storage.

So weird, I was just looking around for a wicker lampshade!
no no no!
the overwhelming majority of us on that macrame post already gave macrame the heave-ho and now you're trying to convince us that crocheted items like the above are going to make a comeback?!?
stop sellin' it cuz we ain't buyin' it!
I was just in CB2 on Sunday and didn't see these...very bizarre but in a good way. You're right, Janel, these would be great in a garden or on a terrace.
I was one of the people who voted 'yes' to the macrame trend, not because I wish it to be but because it seems inevitable... This table seriously skeeves me out. Ugh, gross.
I dislike these also. I think because they are like a bad trip back to the 70's. But also, they look cheap and like they'll by in the garbage within the year.
I am a fiber artist, so I probably have a far higher tolerance for the "crafty" look than most readers. But that is ugly, and it's not crochet.
I like their link side table

oh, i love these!
Oh you people that always yell out about what looks cheap. These do not look cheap. They may not be your particular style and they aren't mine either but they certainly do not look cheap. If they had a higher price tag and a designer name attached to them like Patricia Urquiola, Marcel Wanders or Mooi, etc., they'd be all the friggin rage.
