Divine music takes on a new meaning with the Cross MP3 player, a 512 MB player that also has a built-in speaker, FM transmitter and phone book--all for only $36. Whether or not you'll wear it as jewelry, or say that it's just good design and not religious, that's a good deal all around.
We saw it first over on GeekSugar, where they think it's better than the iBelieve Shuffle lanyard. We're inclined to wonder: is this sacrilegous, or if you play songs of faith on it, does that make it ok?

As one of the faithful, I find it cringe-worthy on multiple levels, though not offensive...
But even at that, my first thought was, "It should come pre-loaded with Depeche Mode's 'Personal Jesus.'"
(clicked through to the links after commenting - nasty habit, I know - and actually, I think the iBelieve is pretty nifty.)
Sounds like a good present for the MIL.
That photo above is not the $36 Cross MP3 player (which, from the pics at GeekSugar, looks cheap and crappy, with llittle chiclet buttons on it). The photo above is of the "Saint B" MP3 player, which appears to be just a prototype.
