That looks uncomfortable and a tiny bit pointless.
If by "a tiny bit," you mean "totally" then I'm with you. Too much manifesto, too little function.
I could totally see college kids use this to study out on the lawn of a campus or just sit and visit. I don't think it's pointless at all.
