Our favorite kinds of projects to do with the kids are ones where we already have the materials at hand. We just spotted this lovely and simple project over at Mondo Cherry using cupcake liners.
We always have a stash of pastel-colored and shiny foil cupcake liners in the pantry. Just string them together using yarn or ribbon, or anything else you've got laying around the house. Cut a small slit into the bottom of each liner and then string. Tie a knot after each liner so that they stay in place. And voila - you've got a DIY garland.

When I first saw this, I thought they were dixie cups, wrapped with scrapbook paper and cut down with wavy scissors. That could also be an easy option.
i wish i could see the rest of this room!
