An ideal summer escape showcased on T Style! This Long Island pool on the North Fork is nestled into the dunes — completely hidden in the tall grasses per the owners request! Surrounded by native grasses and plants, the custom pool by Madderlake Designs combines a 50-foot-long lap pool with an organic-shaped wading pool complete with tiny "islands" of plantlife.
Who wouldn't want their own private tidal pool?

It looks like a game that's missing a texture file...

Haha, awesome.
I really like the organic element. I've always liked free-form pools - they feel more "natural" to me than the rigid rectangles you usually get.
I love it. There's always been something about traditional square pools that I cant put my finger on, but are so overbearing I guess. This is true design, and looks like its not the main focal point out back. I love that.
What happens when there's a storm surge and the tidal marshy stuff leaks in and mixes with your pool water and takes all that marsh sediment and sand with it? I mean obv it looks awesome, I'm just saying....
I love my pool. This home is being rented by Alex and Simon of the Real Housewives of NY, and in a recent Newsday feature, she says it her favorite rental!

I've surprised myself by not liking this. I thought I would, but apparently I have a firm distinction between ocean/lake/etc. swimming and pool swimming. I want my pool pristine and near sterile, no plants or insects, thank you!
It certainly looks nice, but I'd rather just have a pond in my backyard and swim somewhere else.
