We really love cassette tapes. They hearken back to mixed tapes and when music was still plainly analog. However, with iPods, iTunes, and MP3s, it's hard to remind ourselves how things were before we downloaded music onto our MP3 players. TAP3 is a neat-looking MP3 player that's got a bunch of different uses.
Well, maybe not a bunch of different uses, but one thing that really surprised us is that TAP3 functions as an MP3 player and a cassette tape. This means that you can shove it into a tape deck and it will play. Now that is cool.
TAP3 was developed by the design duo Dadahack, who are from London and Stockholm. They also make music. It was recently featured on Designboom. It's basically an MP3-playing cassette tape. You can plug in your headphones or load it up with music via a mini USB port. Or you can just create a mixed tape for your friends.
It will be made in limited quantities and will come with Dadahack's latest album on a 2GB SD card, which can be played directly on TAP3. Now that is also pretty neat. TAP3 is basically a dock for SD cards.
