Daft Punk Headphones: Pretend You're a Robot

I know that I have to wear in-ear headphones when I walk around the city. Having bigger-sized headphones isn't really practical. Try wearing a hat of some sort and see how well those big headphones work, especially in the snow or rain. Plus, taking headphones in and out of your bag just wrecks them after a while. So, it's a fact that most of us wear these headphones, but wouldn't it be cool to be able to wear these headphones? At first glance, there is definitely something robot-like about them. That's because they were designed by someone who loves Daft Punk.

These headphones were created by G. Smith for Nokia's Music Almighty Headset Competition. Smith says that his headphones, which are named Robot Rock, were inspired by the Daft Punk song Robot Rock. Entrants to the design competition were asked to design headsets based on their favorite music song. The competition drew in over 6,000 entries. The panel of judges included Dick Powell, Eddi Yip, Tej Chauhan and Felix Buxton fromBasement Jaxx). The headsets will be on display at the Nokia Regent Street Flagship store in London in April.

I just have to say that these headphones look sweet. I don't know how they sound, since they are Bluetooth, which means wireless, and in my experience, wireless headphones aren't as good as wired ones, for now at least, but they certainly catch the eye. They most definitely make look partially like a robot. You can see the other winners of the competition over here. [via core77]
