Furnitecture. Reader Ryan sent this to us and it promises to be an AT favorite! Designer Dan Hisel has created the ultimate free-standing bedroom for small spaces. The Z Box combines a bed, shelving, closets, lamp, bedside tables and even a dog bed into a 12 ft. x 12 ft. x 10 ft. h space...

Initially designed for a loft lacking a place for a proper bedroom, Z Box is evolving to become a prefabricated, component-based system whose modules can be rolled through a standard door and assembled by the owner. It reminds us of Jade Jagger's pods! While it's not available yet, we'll be keeping our eyes peeled. Thanks Ryan!

White Enamel Four-P...
this is SOOOOO cool!!
It's an interesting idea, but given the dimensions I'm afraid use of the concept is limited to big loft apartments. Perhaps one could buy two or three for a large loft space then slide them around to change the layout.
Very cool, but that doggie would be happier if its bed connected to the bedroom.
Very cool, I remember seeing it in Dwell about a year ago.
Without an active ventilation system that thing looks like it would get stuffy really quickly. Other than that, quite cool.
Looks cool- but isn't it a fire hazard?
