We were perusing the lush photographic world of The Selby and came across a rustic farmhouse that feels so effortlessly stylish, we just have to share.
Dan, a photographer, and Shannan, an artist, recently moved to a country home upstate and filled it with their eclectic belongings. The property includes a main house and two barns, one of which is used as a studio, and the other of which functions as a guest and party pad.
The white interior, which seems oddly like a gutted rural abbey, is sparsely decorated with essentials and feels modern despite its worn finishes. In contrast, the darker, natural wooden spaces are stocked with functional items like records and bottles as well as art, the colors of which fill the rooms with character.

gorgeous and real.
I love the heavy beams and woodwork...so rustic, very beautiful! The fireplace is fantastic!
I love this!! I would love it to live in or as a studio to work in. So very rustic and amazing! (I want the fireplace)
It looks beautiful but I bet it really sucks to live there.
Yeah, a big hot man and a fireplace full of booze and Scrabble. Yeah, it would suck to live there. Especially on a loooonnnnng snowed-in weekend... TERRIBLE! ;)
That altar of red wine is a little weird, but if you are going to make an altar to something I guess wine is as good as anything.
Patrick, a good Scrabble player is part of my checklist in my search for my ideal husband.
Sorry, but this triple-word-scorer is taken. :)
Beautiful! I could use that fireplace right about now!
So the guy is hot... but the house not so much. Looks like it needs a good scrub down.
So does the guy. That's part of the appeal. :)
I agree with solop.
The girl, being a victoria's secret model, isn't so bad either, though I doubt many of us on here care
Dan and Shannan, holy crap, guys! Your place is awesome!
I'm originally from upstate NY and as a decade-long LA resident, I YEARN for a place like this. I fear it may be interwoven into my DNA and thus inextricable...
