Chalk artist Dana Tanamachi created a timelapse movie of a recent installation she did in guest room 1021 at the Ace Hotel. We love how her work uses a temporary medium to such beautiful graphic effect that patrons make it permanent.
It's especially cool to see the process involved in getting to a finished chalk mural. Various guidelines are put into place and erased, the artist spontaneously decides to use a different kind of lettering for one area, and she jumps from section to section perhaps to refocus her concentration or to give her muscles a rest.
