Name: Dana Gibson
Location: Richmond, Virginia
I'm an artist with a limited decorating budget so I made a lot of the things in my house. I am fortunate to have inherited some pretty antiques. I had a beautiful Swedish chair frame but did not want to splurge on upholstering it. So I went online and learned how to do it myself. I also painted the fabric with my own design.
I love mixing the high with the low. I have a pie cupboard I painted with my first design and I still love it. Any piece of furnture can be wakened up like this and I love doing this. Another thing I did was paint the floors in the dressing room and "wallpaper" in my bedroom. I painted some new fabric for curtains in the living room.
Thanks Dana!

In ♥ with the houndstooth patterned floor in pic#2! ~Tracy@dailydecorator.com
what an incredible home. and that chair is gorgeous!!!
Love the wall paper in the 4th pic!
I'm sure when you designed the room with the vanity, you were expecting extreme reactions. I'm on the side that believes there can be too many patterns. The room made me dizzy, literally! However, I love the dining room - such a cozy and inviting space.
love the portrait! love! love!
Someone likes patterns! :) I do too..but not in all the same space. I like that the owner loves her space and that's what is important. Made me a little dizzy. I do like the patterns individually. Love the chair in the fourth pic.
whoa! I would never associate any of these rooms with a limited budget. You did a fantastic job making it all look polished, comfortable, and glamorous. Hats off!
Lovely! One of my favourite house tours so far.
AT - Please do a full house tour of this space...so much gorgeous creativity!
These spaces are so cool. I am totally with the maximalist vibe right now.
Really beautiful! Looks expensive! I'd like to see more please.
Where did you get the fabric for the chair in pic #4? Love it!
I love the yellow wallpaper!
Omigosh! Full house tour, please.
WOW! I would never have guessed this was done on a budget. The first three pictures look like they were taken in a palace.
Miss Dana Gibson...though I could not do this, aka not my style...I love that you shared this with me..all of us! I would have NEVER guessed that some of the items you have shown were not purchased and that you took the time to do your own..You did a fantastic job!
Looks great! would love to see a full tour! i am so jealous of everyones chandeliers. i'm not allowed to change my rentals ceiling lamps that look like giant nipples :(
