What I Love About My Small Home:
What I love most about my tiny apartment is that I managed to transform it into my own private space, an intimate and cozy crib where I can relax, and get inspired. I also love the morning light changing the blue hue of my walls and the theatrical effect the wall color has in the evening, when I turn on the table lamp. I also love the vintage objects inside my apartment and the history they hide. I gathered them from flea markets or received them as gifts from my own family, so the memories they share are precious to me.
Biggest Challenge of Living in a Small Space:
The biggest challenge was to make the space of my 1 room apartment multifunctional: living room and working space by day, bedroom by night. I didn't buy a bed, but an extendable L-shaped sofa. I divided the functional areas in the room by using an armchair. I placed a working desk at the window because I have a nice view outside the window that inspires me. There are geometrical elements in the decor that link all these spaces together. Another challenge to solve was: how do I make the room look bigger and how do I play with light and colour to achieve that? At first I was afraid of using dark colours on the walls, but I'm glad I had the courage to paint my walls in a darker shade of blue, because it had the greatest effect; I chose a nice, rich, textured wall paint which resembles velvet.
