Have you ever made bracelets from dandelion stems? We can't believe our scout leaders never taught us this one! Fortunately, the neighborhood kids were happy to share their knowledge.

Once you pop the flower off the stem, you'll see that the stem is hollow like a drinking straw. You simply curve it into a loop and tuck one end into the other. One stem makes a fine bracelet, or you can link lots of them to make a chain. An essential step in the process, according to these kiddos, is to chant,"Mama had a baby and her head popped off" each time you pull the flower off the stem. Adds a creepy cool macabre aspect to the craft, don't you think?

Shaw's Original Fir...
VERY fun craft and the chant is an absolute crack-up! I am raring to do this now just so I can make my kids laugh.
I vaguely remember doing that, but we used to leave the flowers half attached. They're the pretty part after all! It's just frustrating enough to keep 'em occupied for hours.
