A Design Star's Small Space: Daniel & Dasha's 375 Sq.Ft. Manhattan Hideaway

You may remember Daniel Grady Faires, the furniture maker voted "Fan Favorite" from Season 5 of HGTV's Design Star. And you may remember his cool, reclaimed-industrial style... but did you know that he has a tiny Lower East Side apartment that's just as cool?

Daniel and his lovely wife, Dasha, have turned a small, dark space into a cozy haven of creativity using largely found items and Ikea basics. Yet their home looks anything but basic. A large chalkboard wall is scribbled with messages from friends. Exposed brick is bathed in candlelight, flea market treasures are displayed throughout, and everywhere there's evidence of Daniel's custom furniture and DIY projects. If that weren't enough, there's even a patio — strung with lights, sprinkled with plants and ever ready to receive the multitude of friends that often visit the couple...
