Speaking of chandeliers...how lovely is this bird chandelier created by green/diy guru Danny Seo? It was inspired by a lighting fixture he once saw in an antique store costing thousands of dollars, but he made this one for about $15! Find his materials list below the jump.
This project is completely do-able and would be a charming addition to a baby or child's room. The materials are easy to find:
- a cheap, wide, hanging light fixture (he used a $10 one from Ikea)
- chicken wire (Lowes, Home Depot or your hardware store)
- a variety of birds from a craft store (he found his at Michael's)
- twigs (from your yard or park)
The bird chandelier is part of his makeover of actress Kerry Washington's apartment (featured in O: The Oprah Magazine in June) and it replaced track lighting.
