Dara elicited oohs and aahs from the crowd by showcasing some of the hottest design products in the pet world. As she and many of the guests pointed out, this is an industry that has been neglected by designers for far too long. In the past few years, however, there has been a noticeable shift. Design lovers can find accessories and furniture that incorporates their pet as well as their design sensibilities.

The ecrate was a particular favorite. We were lucky enough to have Peter Pracilio of DesignGO, the insightful and thoughtful designer of this product in our audience that night! He acknowledged that he wanted to find a way to eschew corners--something most pets hated--and create a comfortable space that was pleasant for its inhabitant as well as its owner!
