We're definitely seeing deep, dark walls return to the spotlight. From the prevalence of chalkboard paint to our love affair with gray, gone is the notion that white walls are the only way to make your space look bigger. As we prep for Room For Color 2012, here are some moody hues from our House Tours that show dark done well.

Grey/Dark exposed brick walls are amazing. In the bedroom, it is even better, because you can match the paint fairly well without any effort and the end result is stunning. I also like that the room stays darker during sleeping hours.
dark rooms look so cozy to me. i'd nap there forever and never leave. i really like the one with the brick wall here.
Ah, I'm so happy that dark is making a come-back. I have always had an affinity towards deep, moody rooms. But, paring it with light cabinetry, furniture, accessories can make it feel really clean or glamorous. Going dark has so many dimensions to it other than cozy or den-like, I can't wait to see more people embrace it.
I love a dark, cozy space. So nice, restful and always elegant!
