Tablecloths aren't always just the white lace ones your Grandmother uses. Those aren't very much fun and can be a bit too stuffy. Plus, you always have to worry about what would happen if you accidentally spilled your red wine on them.
A tablecloth can provide the perfect finishing touch or even serve as the actual statement piece in a dining room. Of course they aren't for everyone, but if you've been considering adding one — they can make a huge impact.
If you're on a budget it's actually quite easy to make your own at home. Pick up some muslin and paint at your local craft store and you can easily paint chic stripes and create a statement tablecloth. Don't worry, if you aren't handy — there are plenty of statement tablecloths on the market!

I don't like tablecloths, but I use one if the table will be used a lot. I hate food stains on glass.
I've seen "Granny" lace table cloths dyed black, and they look great. Very Anthropologie/Abigail Ahern chic.
I look at tablecloths as "costume change!" I have 4 kiddos so I need a quick, instant SHAZAM by changing out my tablecloths!
The ruffled tablecloth by A Beach Cottage made me swoon!

My favorites table linens are the table runners..they just served as a great home decor piece and have many uses.......as it reads in the article "table linens can make a huge impact." I agree!! Good article. ((By the way, I own a table linens shop so of course I love table linens!!!))
