David Clark was one of our three December Pitch Presenters. We featured their tile shop back in 2010 and finally got the chance to meet David and hear about his modern handmade ceramics. Guest: David Clark
Company: ModCraft
Hometown: Beacon, NY

About: "ModCraft was started by Industrial Designer David Clark in his Williamsburg, Brooklyn apartment. As interest in his stoneware tile and lighting business grew, he relocated the handmade tile operation to a barn studio he built in Hudson Valley’s Beacon, New York. There he and his wife Mary St. John are able to design and hand make their products in a larger volume.

ModCraft produces sophisticated handmade modern wall tile using high-fire stoneware clay. Light plays across the tile’s glazes and modular surface patterns to create a dynamic visual effect. The result is elegant stoneware tile with a contemporary and modern feel. As interest in our tile has continued to grow, we are now available in showrooms nationwide."
