I had grand illusions of busting out of my house to scour the world for some design inspiration, but alas, with a toddler and infant in tow that trip never quite materialized. Luckily there are plenty of places where I can hunt from home (while madly rocking my baby to sleep in her Ergo carrier, standing next to the vent fan on my microwave — glamorous, no?).
I dove deep into the rabbit holes of Pinterest and Etsy, and scoured some of my favorite blogs until I found something that really struck a chord. The image above has been a long-time favorite piece of Pinterest eye candy, and although I know my kitchen has too many limitations to copy it, I'm definitely using it as a jumping-off point. I love the bright white and warm wood color palette as well as the pops of happy pastels.
Then on my Etsy hunt I came across this beauty. The mints, neutrals, and blush colors are definitely calling to me. This happy little fella may make an appearance in my finished space. And finally, from one of my favorite renovation blogs, I present to you this gorgeous space:
The wood floors, white cabinetry and subway tile, wood tones, and small bits of color and pattern are definitely what I'm going for. I know that with my budget limitations I'm never going to achieve this exact look — for starters, my appliances are white and the budget definitely doesn't allow for them to be replaced, and the open shelving is just not practical enough for my husband. But a girl can dream, right? No matter what, I'm sure the space is going to be a whole lot cuter than when I started - there's really nowhere to go but up!
What did your treasure hunt reveal?
