We usually think of architecture in terms of space, not time, but this home by Fran Silvestre Arquitectos brings attention to the way we use our homes through a day's 24-hour cycle. Sliding glass doors flood the interior with light, while an arc-shaped room divider and shelving unit throws changing shadows across the floor like a sundial.

Located in the city center of Valencia, Spain, the home existed as two separate apartments before the renovation. The architect combined the two homes into one long corridor that moves from living room to kitchen to bedroom. Living space and sleeping space are placed on opposite sides of a long glass wall.

The architects explain...

...loosely translated as:

The renovation radically altered the two living spaces by proposing a change that clearly differentiates between day and night zones, which are articulated around a spacious hallway that allows clear circulation from one room to another and provides a sense of uniformity in the space.
