We're wrapping up our bedroom coverage this week and next week we'll start digging in on small space posts. As a bridge between the two subjects, we're looking at our favorite stores for essentials with creating a bedroom in a small space – daybeds, futons and sleeper sofas. Whether you're trying to carve a boudoir out of a studio or set up a guest room for the mother-in-law, check out these retailers for small space sleeping solutions.

Design Within Reach may not exactly be within everyone's reach, but they do offers a couple of very nice, modern daybeds. The Twilight Sleeper Sofa is a favorite. (If you're in the New York area, check out the DWR outlet for items a little more in reach of a tight budget.)
• The Parsons Daybed reads like a bed so it may not work in a studio apartment setting, but it would be great in a guest room. The Windows Daybed would probably be more fitting for a living space. Both are available from West Elm.
• As you might expect, Daybeds.com has a wide selection of, well, daybeds. This online shop's selection varies from modern designs like this Astoria Daybed to more feminine pieces.
• The Flip Sofabed from Gus Modern converts from a modern sofa to Queen bed with a quick flip of the seat cushion. This seems like a lightweight sofa bed for anyone who plans to move, especially if that move involves stairs!
• We come across the Lubi Sleeper Daybed quite often in house tours. CB2 got it right with the design and continues to keep it fresh by introducing it in a new color each season.

• You just had to know that IKEA was going to appear on this list. With affordable pieces like the HEMNES daybed, IKEA will continue to appeal to the small space dweller on a tight budget.
Resource Furniture creates the furniture equivalent of Tranformers. All of their pieces, like this Ito Space Saving System
