A few weeks back I shared my personal bedroom with the arc light over the bed. Thank you for all your feedback. The verdict is in - the arc lamp is staying. Now it has come down to the final touches in the bedroom and I have been daydreaming about the perfect duvet cover. Because some of the bedding is more unisex than the other choices, I think it is going to come down to a compromise between both of our styles and keeping it relatively neutral.

I love 1, 3, 7 and 10!
Why are you keeping that arc lamp? :(
I love the Calvin Klein duvet covers (both.) I've been trying to get one of the two through Ebay forever, but they are very popular.
I really like the look of the Restoration Hardware duvet cover as well, but I'm not sure about linen for a duvet cover. I don't have any experience with linen duvet covers, though, so I welcome any information anyone would like to share on this topic.
screw the duvet, give us a tutorial on how to make that incredible headboard!!
The lamp in the 1st image is looking great and goes well with the back wall-covering.
The sketch duvet set is now on sale on DwellStudio for 196$ (was 280)

Hey, my set's here! (Calvin Klein Bamboo Flower) It looks more blue-purple than purple-purple in real life. I love it to bits.
All very stylish. Target also has a nice collection of Dwell bedding for the budget-minded.
I would be placing an order for the block print one from West Elm for myself...if they weren't following the annoying trend of pretending one size can fit both Full and Queen duvets. Why is everyone doing this?
All duvets and covers share a common characteristic...after a few nights the duvet moves around in the cover. I have discovered a solution. Turn the duvet cover inside out. On the four corners hand sew about 10 inch lengths of seam binding, twill tape or thick ribbon (I use twill tape.) Turn the duvet cover right side out. On the duvet itself also sew 10 inch lengths. When it comes the time to insert the duvet into the duvet cover tie the four corners of the duvet ties to the cover ties. Your divet will never bunch up inside the cover again!
I have the "sketch" set and it is gorgeous! We got it from Dwell Studio as well, and for the sale price, too. I bought lovely steely gray sheets to go with it and my bf and I both adore the look. All of these covers are stunning, I particularly like that first one - yellow and gray!!
I love the first picture. But I just made a duvet cover out of an Urban Outfitters tapestry. It looks great!

I like the Jonathan Adler (1 & 10) and the Anthropolgie (7) ones the best out of these. I could spend all day every day picking out new bedding, though... And I always love Crate and Barrel, too, which has beautiful Marimekko sets and are so soft, and very durable, too (they last for years).
I think the sketch duvet set would work well in your space.
A Duvet cover is so easy to make that I don't know why you'd force yourself to go with ready-made if you don't have to.
The only "trick" is piecing your 54" wide fabric from three long panels. The middle panel for a Queen, for example, with seam allowance, would be 52".
Divide the remaining yardage straight down the middle into two 22" panels, or 20" each with seam allowance.
Stitch your three panels together into a 92" wide top. Do the same for the bottom. Add comforter ties in the corners if you wish.
Finish the top with buttons or zipper. Turn each inside out and stitch the sides and bottom closed. Voy-ola, a duvet in a day.
You can always practice with a bed-sheet from a thrift store if you're unsure.
A rule of thumb for duvet sizes (or look at your favorite retailer's dimensions):
TWIN 63"Wx88"L
FULL 78"Wx88"L
QUEEN 88"Wx90"L
SUPER QUEEN 96"Wx98"L
KING 102"Wx90"L
SUPER KING 114"Wx98"L
CAL KING 104"Wx100"L
urbancricket--thanks! I've been thinking of doing this but hadn't thought it all the way through. Sounds very easy.
Love the CK Bamboo Flower. I have been loving it for years, actually, but so pricey even on ebay. Maybe one day...
I like #1 and #3. I've been looking at the DwellStudio one but even on "sale" at $196 seems like way too much to pay for what is essentially a big pillowcase.
If you decide to make your own and just want a plain duvet a shortcut to piecing widths of 44 or 54" fabric is to use two flat sheets. You could also use a high quality muslin like Kona.
An alternative to G Speaks ribbon idea is using snap tape.
Jess13, the headboard looks like Jonathan Adler's Woodhouse bed which I love.
A tutorial for something similar can be found at Design Sponge. All you would have to do is add tufting.

@bemyescape Thank you so much!!! there is even a cutout tutorial there now!!
Absolutely love the Draper Stripe from Dwell, Calvin Klein Acacia, Provence Stripe from Restoration Hardware and the Orange Mustique by Jonathan Adler. Personally, we are going for the Dillan Chambray and Jaipur sets from C&B -

Give me the Linen! I've wanted linen bedding since I took a longboat trip in the English countryside, and all of our bunk beds had spectacular linen sheets and pillows...it brings an unparalleled crispness+softness combination to the bedroom!
Beamish, I also hate that combo full/queen duvet trend ! I have a full sized bed, and the sizes for duvet covers are all over the board. I found a great Marimekko one on sale at Crate & Barrel, but it was too large.
Z Gallerie has some great looking duvet cover sets for ~$150. I wish the colors worked in my room, instead I resorted to Marshalls for a white set.
I have the Calvin Klein Acacia set...the quality is outstanding....I also love the fact that you can play with the shade of gray by using a variety of blue-gray accessories.
