While some elements seem familiar — for example, a neutral backdrop that allows vibrant art and accessories to take center stage — there is something about Barbara's house that is quite different from the beautiful DC area residences that we're used to seeing in shelter magazines. Her neutral background is not just flat white, it's a collage of textures and finishes that bring warmth and depth to the rooms. And her accents are unexpected without tipping into the realm of shock value — they compliment the architecture but enliven it too.

Shaw's Original Fir...
I like this! very traditional but still individual and fun.
I feel like there is too much going on. Maybe the staging is just off. It feels like everything is in the center of the room.
I love the artist that did the dumb looking bird in the first pic. He's a really nice guy and local to DC. We bought one of his prints for our apartment: http://www.branddave.com/freehand/why_i_otter_print.html
@ROWSDOWER I thought that painting looked semi-familiar. I see that artist's pieces at a coffee shop close to my job.
I absolutely love this bed!
The Green Lady! I have her in my living room.
I'm in love with that bed and the chair!
