The Gallery: Susan Yanero's Paintings

Susan Yanero paints clowns, cats, horses, creepy dolls, and antiques. She is known to scour antique shops to find strange objects that inspire her to paint. We were lucky to visit her studio in a Southeast DC warehouse and wanted to give you a sneak peak into her upcoming show at The Washington Studio School, a former home converted into an art school...

Susan Yanero has taught drawing and painting at American University and The Washington Studio School for many years. A show of her recent paintings opens this Thursday, July 30th (reception is from 7 to 9 pm) and runs through August 31, 2009 at The Washington Studio School, 2129 S Street, NW, Washington, DC 20008 (phone 202.234.3030). This is a great chance to get reasonably priced artwork by a wonderful local artist.
