Name: Lindsey
Location: Augusta, Georgia
Type of Home: single family home
Color Inspiration: I love bright colors and vivid contrast. When I began choosing colors for my home this bright pink was one of the first colors I got really excited about. Also, the color name is "Cheery" which I just love. With the white cabinets and white beadboard wainscoting the color has a great impact without being overly vivid. Also, pink is a really great color for a bathroom; it really brightens your skin and cheers you up.
Name: Lindsey
Location: Baton Rouge, Louisiana
Type of Home: 1930s cottage
Color Inspiration: I was inspired by the beautiful stained glass in the door; my photographs, which are all in color and framed in classic black with white mattes and the desire to move as far from the dingy khaki walls that came with the house when I bought it six weeks ago.
Name: Elizabeth
Location: North Charleston, South Carolina
Type of Home: single family home
Color Inspiration: One day, I was shopping and fell in love with a couch. I'd visit it at the store, sit on it, think about it, dream about it. So, I plunked down the money and bought it. I love it. From there, I found the curtains at ikea to tie in the new green couch with my existing red furniture. With the green and red, I felt the need for a calming, non-bright color to bring it all together and decided to paint the walls the aptly named 'tranquil pond.'
Name: Avery
Location: Washington, D.C.
Type of Home: 2 bedroom condo
Color Inspiration: For work and pleasure, I do quite a bit of traveling around the world, particularly in developing countries, and have brought back pieces with amazing colors and patterns. I wanted a room that could match the vibrancy of my souvenirs and bring out the rich colors in the exposed brick and hardwood floor in my main living area.
