Springtime Bedding from an Unexpected Source

DeliasAntiqueChic.jpg

While clearing out a large pile of junk mail, we came upon a catalog with an unexpected selection of springtime bedding. Though not all of the selections made us swoon (brown and white zebra bedding just isn't our style) there were a couple of choices that would look right at home in any modern apartment. Care to make a guess about our surprising source?

We found this fun seasonal bedding at dELiA*s, a catalog more known for teen clothing than modern home decor. We love the fun patterns and bright colors, and at $100 or less for a queen duvet cover and shams, changing your bedding won't break the bank. dELiA*s duvets and shams are made of 220-thread-count cotton as are the matching sheets and bedskirts.

Be honest — what did you think our secret source would be?

I said Target, because I like Target and those sheets and curtains in your photo.

Yay, I was right!

They sure have amped up their bedding collections- when I was a teen it was all rainbows and such, totally tacky.

My first thought was Target too... I would have never guessed Delias! In high school I tried to re-do my room to look like one in their catalog but completely forgot about them until now. Thanks!

the starstruck collection is extremely '80s retro. very "desperately seeking susan."

don't overlook the clearance section for old collections. and remember that teen bedding is usually about 200TC no matter the source.

I thought Target or Ikea. Another great source with great prices is

I recently bought beautiful retro- modern bedding from them (and the price was also great)...

I get most of my linens from Overstock.com or Smartbargains.com - You have to be selective, but i've found some amazing deals

(and solid colors never go out of season)

delia's was my guess : )

I don't know about the quality of their bedding but I'm skeptical. When it comes to sheets, comfort trumps cuteness.

I love sources like Delias and Urban Outfitters for things that aren't necessarily against your skin, like throw pillows and duvet covers. As long as my sheets are luxuriously soft, I'm happy.

Oh yeah, they have free shipping, too. At least I got an email since my recent purchase. I noticed their bedding, too. Teen catalogs probably have more of an eclectic/sale collection since they're not highly sought items over bikinis.

Yea, I've ordered duvets and linens from Delias before. The bedding was decent. I ordered a very saturated red and orange bedding, and the color did not fair well after the fist wash. But I was 15 so it didn't really make much of a difference to me.

It wasn't itchy or anything. But if you're particularly picky, you might want to stay clear.

Believe it or not, WallMart had some sheet sets recently in all sizes that were 300 thread count 100% cotton. They came in cotton drawstring bags and I think were $27 for King and $17 for twin. They had them in classy "Calvin Klein" type colors, too.

I think all of the budget minded superstores have stepped up their merchandise within the last couple of years. They carry great products that just about everyone can afford.
