It's cute, but I would worry that it would leak if I was travelling. And if I'm not supposed to be carrying it while full, where do I get the lemon juice on the road?

"where do I get the lemon juice on the road?"

From a lemon.

Haha @ Archie!
I love this idea :) And it's not too expensive, either!

6-8 weeks of power... then how do I keep the time for refilling?

You empty the clock when you travel. :)

This is so cool. What a great way to reduce battery use.

This doesn't make much sense. I have to empty it to travel since it won't pass TSA. So when I land I have to go looking for lemon juice - something I don't have time for when traveling on business or the desire to waste my time on when traveling for pleasure.

@XL Sheng-

I just checked the site where it's sold and it says that there's a built in memory chip so that you won't lose the time when you're refilling it after the 6-8 weeks of use.

@alexis: Apparently, if we're not the type of travelers who carry lemons with us, or have easy access to lemons wherever we go, we're not the intended customer of this product.

No, sorry. Ridiculous. I have a cell phone alarm. I can also use a clock with rechargeable batteries that I already own. If I must buy a new product, solar alarm clocks would work better and easier. And they don't require lemons.

The lemon thing, just stop at the first bar you come to when you arrive order and G&T with lots of lemon.

I've gotta say I disagree and could see this being very practical. Rechargeable batteries still die eventually and have to be tossed out, and you still need an electrical outlet to charge them. This clock doesn't need to be sitting in the sun to work, nor do you ever need an electrical outlet for it to function. I'm not saying a solar powered one wouldn't be really neat as well, but I do like this. I could see taking it on a canoe trip or camping, etc. Just add the lemon juice before you leave- the charge lasts long enough.
