based off of my experience with ikea furniture in the past, I am worried about the stability of the legs. They don't look like they would support the furniture, let alone the furniture filled with clothes or topped with other items and put under every day use.

I absolutely love this line! It's much darker online than it is in person. When I first saw it on the website, I thought, "oh great, the same crap everyone else is doing." But the gray is done so well, and the knobs are amazing with it! I can't wait to pick up anything from this line, and quite possibly that evil, black, dresser/mirror thing they have under the Hemnes line. Yum!

my sister just got the desk and the night stand and they are surprisingly sturdy and very cute.

With those legs this collection is almost... twee.

I had a hunch that curved legs were coming back. I almost bought a coffee table with curvy legs that was very-much-on-sale online by a high-end retailer. I thought: "This is so out it may come back!" At the last moment I lost my nerve.

I love queen anne legs, but the proportions on the 2-drawer dresser and the nightstand seem a little odd. O, I figured it out: they remind me of a character from the animated Disney version of Beauty and the Beast. I can't remember which one, but there's something about that proportion that's just a little too personified. But I really like the desk and the larger pieces.

Love it! I will have to check out if they are going to bring this range to Australia.

I think Ikea is taking the hint from all the goodwill pieces shown on every design blog that has been revamped and now sporting that look.

Lurker 2009, I think you've put your finger on it, the proportions are awkward. This isn't for me.

Haha, I thought the proportions were kind of fun, but my husband said "WOAH that one has long legs!" Which I thought was sort of funny.

I really liked what I saw online, but then when I got to the store it looked cheap and not as nice. It's unfortunate because I was looking forward to adding a couple of these to my mix. Oh well.

I have been on the hunt for new dark (preferably black) bedroom furniture but I am a bit nervous to purchase from Ikea. I have an ikea coffee table, side table, and the Billy bookshelves, but they are not very sturdy and I certainly don't want to be back in the market for bedroom furniture because I purchases cheap furniture. Either way, I like the design and I will be on the lookour for more word on actual reviews.

Is it possible to resize the preview thumbnails so they do not cut off the edges of the furniture?

We have the bed in yellow and LOVE it. The money I saved on the bed, I spent on sumptuous bedding. It looks way more expensive when made up and is very sturdy. Everyone who sees it is shocked it's IKEA b/c it blends so nicely with all the "real" furniture in the room and looks so great.

I don't know that bed would look right with the new curvy-legged furniture in the line, though. The bed is all straight lines.

It's like the pieces look okay until I scroll down and WHOA!! legs everywhere. I'd like to see the wardrobe, the dressers and the shelves with no legs. I would just not like to see the desk and the night stand at all.

Gawd, I love these. The second I found them I started saving for the wardrobe. I have a houseful of little antiques, but it's impossible to get a solid antique armoire up my very narrow staircase. This is an affordable and attractive way to get more storage... without going conspicuously modern.

@lurker2209 - thank you! These things had been reminding me of *something* but I didn't think of Beauty and the Beast until I read your post. That's exactly it.

The finish on these is lighter in person and has a nice subtle sheen to it. They seemed relatively sturdy in the showroom, and the drawers and doors operated smoothly. I'm a fan.

They look sort of Tim Burton-esque. Like they might start walking around when you turn the lights out. I like that.

Oh dear - not sure I can get behind this line, Ikea. I agree with the Disney-Tim Burton-Miss Spider comments above. I understand wanting to reach a larger customer base than the sleek modern style attracts (thus the Pottery Barn knockoffs in recent years), but I'm not sure what to make of this. Maybe a single piece could work, but more than 1 could look too leggy and bizarre. I'll check them out in person and see if I change my mind...

My friend bought the armoire for her tiny but fashionable studio apartment in downtown San Francisco. It's a very well made piece and holds many things with style and organization. I recommend this line of furniture at Ikea. However, the white four poster bed seems totally out-of-keeping with the stylish update on French provencial.

I'm confused. The bed doesn't look anything like the others.

Wait, what? I thought *everyone* was trying to decorate their homes in accordance with the furniture styling from Beauty and the Beast? Did someone not get the memo? Tsk.

All kidding aside, Beauty and the Beast is my favourite Disney movie, so my heart kind of skipped a beat a tad when I saw these. I like the top two pieces, but I've not had a great experience with Ikea dressers thus far.

We purchased one a year ago because I really liked the shape of it (it has a large oval mirror attached to it, in dark wood, and has a glass top if that helps) but the drawers are horrible. They need to be reinforced, because clothes always fall through the bottom of them - cheap chipboard held in place with 'grooves' is not strong enough to even hold half a drawers worth of clothes.

I think we'll be replacing it soon, which is sad because I quite liked the look. Ah well, with Ikea, you win some, you lose some.

Eeek! They're kind of funky and cool, but I agree with the previous poster about a whole room full of them looking likely to reanimate and start walking around! Too Tim Burton a la Beetlejuice for me. Especially for a bedroom.

I like the glass-fronted cabinet, though. It might look cool holding lots of colorful linens in a dining room or hallway. But I'd worry about the durability of those long legs. They'd probably be okay until you moved and the thing got manhandled going up the stairs. Or until your Great Dane or drunk brother-in-law knocked into the side of it.
